Translations

Daphne is an experienced translator, working between Greek and English. A native speaker of Greek, she has gained mother-tongue fluency in English through studying, living and working in the UK for the past 12 years. Her engagement with both academia and popular culture, her background in Literature and Creative Writing, and the fact that she has spent her adult life constantly switching between English and Greek, have put her in the rather rare position, as a translator, to not only understand the formal and colloquial intricacies of both languages, but to be able to use them naturally, confidently and creatively, producing translations that actually read like originals.

She has gained experience in translating texts from a wide range of fields (indicatively: literature, art, politics, medicine, physics, tourism, economics, press releases, demographic reports, contracts, websites, etc), and will consider any project, following an initial read-through to establish whether she is the right person for the job.
